Willis TX Roof ventilation

Every home needs it and every home requires a different solution. Ridgevent works great in some situations, but so does a good positive air flow from a roof fan.  An electric powervent provides positive air flow with minimal cost on energy.  If you have enough sunlight, look at a solar option.  Just like everything you buy, solar vents are not all equal.  The $300 vent from Amazon, Ebay or the local home improvement store isn't going to give you the airflow or longevity of a quality fan.  Minimum wattage for a good solar attic fan starts at 35watts.  As far as quality, AtticBreeze has been my go to solar fan since 2006.  I've never had a call back on their fans.  They're made in South Texas and carry a lifetime ltd warranty.  The 45watt is the favorite for my team.  It'll vent up to 3100sq ft attics and the 45watt motor is strong and reliable.  Solar fans need sun.  If you decide to try a solar fan, make sure your roof isn't covered by shade, or you're just wasting money.  Take a look at your roof during the day and see just where the sunlight hits.  The fan will still run with light, but with direct sun, it's working at peak efficiency.  You'll spend a little more money, but the longevity of the fan will be worth it.

The solar panel on the AB is able to tilt, so you can install it on the southside and lift the solar panel to catch that morning or evening sun.
